Los Angeles — The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), the largest immigrant rights organization in California, called on all California Congressional Representatives and two senators to withhold their vote on a Congressional Resolution unless it includes a clean DREAM Act and adequate disaster relief for impacted communities.

The following are statements for Angelica Salas, CHIRLA executive director

“The time to let California values shine through the myopia and lack of compassion in Congress is now: we call on every single Congress Representative and our two Senators to do right for the Golden State by withholding their vote on CR.

Congress must not go home without including a clean DREAM Act and considerable disaster relief that matches the tragedies impacting so many communities throughout the United States.”
